With growing focus on de-escalation as a law enforcement practice, this 40 hour course will prepare your officers and your agency to peacefully resolve incidents involving persons in crisis, as well as safely resolve hostage situations.
Successful completion of the course will result in a Level 1 & 2 Certification for Crisis De-escalation and Hostage Negotiations
Informants are an important tool for police work, especially in narcotics investigations. This class will explore the methods of recruiting and managing effective informants, and using them to build cases.
The second portion of the course is a basic undercover school, covering how to choose UC officers, how to prepare UC officers for the assignment, differences between long and short term UC assignments, the use UC officers for narcotics, vice, murder-for-hire and other types of investigations. This course includes realistic simulation and role playing requiring students to participate as both undercover officers, and UC officer handlers.

A variety of topics will be covered, including crime scene preservation and processing, forensic evidence preservation, technological tools such as GPS and cell phone data, search warrant and legal process preparation, building a case file, court room testimony, and other. The 2 day "Interview and Interrogation" class can be added on to this course to fully prepare you to solve cases.
